Scope

Communication Today is an academic journal from the scholarly fields of media studies and marketing communication. The Journal contains professional scientific reflections on the media and media competences; it also offers various academic discourses on the limits of reality, media thinking, new media, marketing and media relations, new trends in marketing (including their types and specifics), psychology and sociology of marketing communication, as well as new knowledge on the structure of media contents, marketing strategies and communication sciences. The professional public is offered an interdisciplinary, focused, targeted discussion. Communication Today is a double-blind peer reviewed academic journal published twice a year. It focuses on theoretical studies, theoretical and empirical studies, research results and their implementation into practice, as well as on essays, interviews with media scholars, professional publication reviews and shorter news articles. Basic sections of the Journal are as follows: Editorial, Theoretical Studies, Research Studies, Reviews and Today, which consists of shorter news articles. The Journal’s Editorial Office also accepts manuscripts of interviews with renowned media scholars and professionals as well as essays. The Journal is registered in the List of Periodical Press at the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic under number EV 3972/10 and its international standard serial number (ISSN) is 1338-130X. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
