Scope
As shown in the figure below, HM focuses on relationships between cardiovascular diseases and mental/psychological disorders, as well as their correlations and interactions with other diseases, environmental and lifestyle factors.
HM will publish papers that report the latest basic research and clinical developments, with particular (but not exclusive) emphasis on the following topics:
Psycho-cardiology which studies the relationship between mental/psychological factors and cardiovascular diseases and the influence of controlling these factors on the outcome of cardiovascular diseases. Examples include: personality and hypertension, stress and myocardial infarction, anxiety and myocardial ischemia, etc. In particular, we welcome the clinical study of other comorbidities in patients with psycho-cardiac diseases, such as the treatment of diabetes, or gastric ulcer etc.
The study of somatic symptoms and the relationship between mental/psychological factors and non-cardiovascular diseases, such as stress and diabetes, anxiety and diarrhea, personality and cancer, etc.
Relevant research into the relationship between cardiovascular diseases and other diseases, for example, relationships such as those between cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases; periodontal diseases, autoimmune diseases and cardiovascular diseases, etc.
The study of reciprocal interactions between environmental or lifestyle factors and cardiovascular diseases. For example, relationships such as those between sleep, smoking, exercise, diet and cardiovascular diseases; age, gender and cardiovascular diseases; height, weight, body fat, waist-hip ratio and cardiovascular diseases; as well as the relationship between cardiovascular diseases and environmental factors such as climate, region etc.
