How to publish in this journal

Scope

The Journal of Health Psychology promotes the study and application of scientific psychology on health and physical illness. Journal contents include paper on psychological concomitant to physical illness: etiology, onset, process, experience, treatments, recovery, rehabilitation and prevention; health related quality of life; health attitudes and behavior; individual healthcare system enterprise; communication in health area; health promotion.The Journal consists of three basic sections. Section ‘Original Papers´, where publishes empirical, theoretical or methodoligical studies, and accepts papers that introduce new approaches and interventions related to health psychology. Section ‘Review Papers´, where publishes meta-analysis or or reviews papers. In both sections the journal will publish research or review Works, with proved quality and made by professionals who are postgraduate, master or doctorat students. Section ‘Comments and Retorts’, where publishes critical analysis and comments of health professionals about papers already published that have showed to be especially relevant in health psychology. EDITORIAL AIMS 1) To provide an area of interaction between researchers and practitioners in all areas of health psychology 2) To underline and promote interdisciplinary health problems. 3) To encourage theoretical and empirical studies about application of psychology to health problems through critical discussion and scientific debate. 4) To supply a quick access to relevant information already published, through the second section, to professionals, students and researchers. 5) To offer a tool for initiation into the publication world for the best research work undertaken by health professional who are in training process. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
