Scope

CIRIEC-España revista de economía pública, social y cooperativa (CIRIEC journal of public, social and cooperative economy) is a quarterly Latin-American scientific journal founded in 1986 and published on behalf of the non-governmental scientific organisation CIRIEC-Spain. It publishes original, high-quality papers in economics, but also in social sciences, law and politics. Papers are written in Spanish or in English and subjected to a peer review system. The research field of CIRIEC-España revista de economía pública, social y cooperativa (CIRIEC journal of public, social and cooperative economy) ranges over organizations, enterprises and public/private bodies focused on general interest, sustainable development and public purpose. It pays particular attention to social economy -mostly composed of social cooperatives, agricultural cooperatives, worker cooperatives, credit cooperatives, mutual societies, social enterprises, non-profit organizations, labour societies, mutual saving banks, foundations, voluntary organizations and associations- and also to public economy, giving priority in this case to labour policies, social cohesion and regional development policies. CIRIEC has the support of the Spanish Ministry of Labour and of several other public and private bodies whose aim is the promotion of the Social Economy at regional and national level. Nowadays, this journal is considered a “must-read” for Spanish-speaking, but also other Latin languages-speaking researchers, managers and specialists in its scope.
